Acadia’s student Academic Calendar explains how student records are collected and stored and under what conditions they are released.

Generally, student information is not available to third parties publicly except the following: name; period of registration; program of studies; certificates, diplomas, and degrees awarded. For example, our annual Convocation ceremony is a considered a public event and the names of graduates are published and the event webcast. Student information can also be shared between University employees since employees are bound by University policy and legislation to keep these records confidential.

Employee information contained in personnel records is considered confidential according to Nova Scotia legislation but is accessible to individuals who request access to their own information.
